Full Biography
Ricardo Seixas is an advertising executive and entrepreneur based in Manchester, United Kingdom. He is best known as the founder and CEO of One Day Agency, an international integrated advertising and marketing agency established in 2019.[1] With more than 20 years of experience in digital advertising across four continents, Seixas has worked with major consumer brands, technology companies, start ups, software businesses and marketing agencies, leading digital and marketing projects for globally recognised organisations.[1]
His career began in creative and digital roles, including work as a designer for a small website studio in Portugal in the mid 2000s. He later moved into senior performance and leadership positions, including a role at Google in the United Kingdom, before progressing into head of department roles across the agency sector.[1]
With academic backgrounds in engineering, communication design and business management, Seixas has overseen the growth of One Day Agency from an independent start up into an international business. The agency reported £3.5 million turnover in 2022, expanded into multiple international markets, and received industry recognition including being named one of Prolific North’s Independent Agencies to Watch for 2023 and a Top 50 Integrated Agency.[1]
Under his leadership, the agency has delivered high profile projects including a multinational out of home campaign for the Jordan Tourism Board across 10 European countries. In 2024, One Day Agency was partially acquired by the Behrens Group, while remaining co owned with Seixas.[1][2]
Early life and education
Early life
Ricardo Seixas was born in Oporto, Portugal, in 1981.[3][4] During his early years, he developed a strong interest in both technology and creativity. In the mid 1990s, he discovered the internet through dial up connections and platforms such as mIRC, which allowed him to connect with people globally.[1] These early experiences shaped his long term interest in digital communication, innovation and consumer behaviour.
Education
Seixas studied engineering at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto between 1999 and 2003.[5] He later studied communication design at ESAD, Escola Superior de Artes e Design, from 2003 to 2007, completing a Master’s degree in Communication Design
His academic work was later referenced in Processos Criativos in 2011, a publication exploring methodologies in creativity and design. His work was also cited in El proceso creativo desde la perspectiva de la creatividad como una capacidad sistémica by Katja Tschimmel, focused on systemic approaches to creativity in professional practice.[6]
He later completed an MBA in Management at Católica Porto Business School between 2010 and 2011, with studies focused on management, international business, accounting and strategy.[5][6]
Professional career
Early career
Seixas entered the advertising and digital sector in the mid 2000s after completing his studies in design. His early roles combined creative production with technical execution, allowing him to work across websites, digital campaigns and brand development projects.
He worked across multiple industries, brands and markets, building experience in both creative and commercial disciplines. This period established the integrated skill set that would later define his leadership approach.
International experience and leadership roles
Across his career, Seixas has worked with international clients including L’Oréal, Telefónica, GlaxoSmithKline, Sanofi, Ambev and public sector organisations, while also collaborating with agencies such as Havas and Saatchi & Saatchi.[7]
In 2018, he joined Media Agency Group as Head of Digital, leading the relaunched ClickTap Media division in MediaCityUK.[7] The role focused on performance marketing, strategic planning and digital growth. During this period, the business secured new clients including The Crystal Maze Experience, Herbalife and CuraPROX.[8]
Campaigns delivered during this time included the Liverpool ONE integrated marketing initiative, which contributed to a 3.8% increase in visitors year on year and won recognition at the Northern Digital Awards in 2019.[10]
Founding One Day Agency
Ricardo Seixas founded One Day Agency in 2019, with the business incorporated as 1D Agency Ltd.[12][13] The company was built as an integrated advertising model designed to connect creative, media, strategy and digital execution within one structure.
Headquartered in Manchester, the agency launched during the COVID 19 period and pursued rapid growth through a lean and adaptable operating model.[14]
Growth and expansion
Since launch, One Day Agency has expanded into a multi market operation. The agency has operated across Manchester, London, Warsaw, Paris and Berlin, supporting clients across multiple territories.[14][18]
By 2022, the company reported turnover of more than £3.5 million and moved into a larger headquarters in Manchester city centre.[16]
The agency has since received recognition including Top 50 Integrated Agency and Prolific North Independent Agencies to Watch.[20][21]
Leadership and impact
As founder and CEO, Seixas oversees strategy, operations, growth and client delivery across the agency. His leadership approach combines creative thinking with commercial discipline and a strong focus on technology enabled marketing.
He has advocated for a modern agency model that removes traditional silos between departments, favouring integrated senior teams focused on business outcomes rather than channel separation.
Under his direction, the agency has delivered cross channel campaigns including the Jordan Tourism Board “Kingdom of Time” campaign across 10 European markets.[24]
Awards and recognition
Agency awards
Under Seixas’s leadership, One Day Agency won two honours at the Global Digital Excellence Awards in 2020: Global Biddable Agency of the Year and Best Use of Research. These awards recognised work delivered for fashion client Femme Luxe during the early COVID 19 period.[26]
The agency has also been recognised by Prolific North and other industry bodies for growth and integrated marketing performance.[25]
